E4D Dentist

My practice has invested in E4D Technology to provide my patients with same day ceramic restorations. No more messy impression materials or hassle with annoying temporaries.

E4D Technology offers my patients the opportunity to have a metal-free restoration designed, fabricated and delivered in a single appointment. Using E4D Technology, I am able to take a photo scan of your tooth with a special laser camera that safely captures the anatomy of the prepared tooth and renders it as a 3-dimensional image. There is no radiation, and no impression.

I then customize your crown, inlay or onlay using your digital "virtual impression" and 3D imaging software while you relax with a magazine or watch TV. The entire process from start to finish should take under two hours. If you prefer, you may leave the office with a temporary and return later in the day, or later in the week. It is up to you.

After the final design, the E4D milling system employs CAD/CAM technology to mill your restoration from a high-strength, metal-free, ceramic or composite block in a shade to match the color of the rest of your teeth.

Once seated in place, your restoration is complete - no second visit required! It is truly incredible technology, and it has changed everything about getting your tooth crowned. Metal free crowns are beautiful and durable. This is the ultimate in dental technology today.

Ergonomic Dental Chairs by Pelton and Crane

I'm very proud to announce that all four dental chairs have been replaced! After studying what the leading manufacturers had to offer, I selected beautiful black leather chairs by Pelton and Crane... the undisputed leader in dental chair design. Aside from being gorgeous, these made-in-the-USA dental chairs actually massage the patient during treatment. I've had them for a month, and my patients are loving them.

Helios 3000 Patient Lights

Another fantastic upgrade is my four new Helios 3000 patient lights. They provide amazing light, yet they don't shine in your eyes.

Using multi-colored LED's (red, green, blue and amber), the light temperature can be touch-button controlled to produce both 5000°K and 4200°K settings. This is optimal for shade matching by verifying accuracy at both temperature settings.

Factory calibrated at 27", a precise 3"x6" rectangular light pattern with uniform intensity is produced. With nearly no hot spots or color washing on the outer edges of the pattern, illumination occurs only where you want it to - in the oral cavity, not in the patient's eyes.

The ability to control the color output allows the Helios 3000 to eliminate all blue light from the color spectrum while maintaining 15,000 LUX intensity. This state-of-the-art feature prevents polymerization of restorative materials by drastically reducing the spectrum within the 400nm-500nm range. Never dim or move your operatory lights again.

Heat conduits and the channeled heat sink with a forced air convection fan eliminate nearly all radiant heat. No more inadvertent burns for you and your staff or uncomfortable heat projected onto the patient.

The Helios 3000 has a maximum output of 48 watts. That's nearly 70% less energy consumed than standard halogen operating lights. Coupled with a minimum life expectancy of 30,000 hours, feel confident knowing that you are saving valuable energy and that you will never need to replace another halogen bulb again.

Statim Sterilizer

Finally, The Statim Sterilizer by SciCan is an awesome product, capable of completely sterilizing dental instruments in 8 minutes.

The Statim 2000 S-cycle cassette autoclave is the fastest benchtop sterilizer available. Statim will sterilize instruments in only 8 minutes and between patients. This will optimize clinical time management and improve efficiency... Everyone likes an efficient visit.

How Does Statim Work So Fast?
The removal of air has long been recognized as critical to achieving sterilization because air can act as a barrier to the sterilizing steam. In fact, unless the autoclave can evacuate air from inside the handpiece before sterilization begins; the handpiece would not necessarily be sterilized. This 'pre-evacuation' and sterilization can only be assured in a validated S or B-cycle autoclave.

All of my handpieces (drills) are sterilized by the SciCan Statim.

iLase - Biolase Comfortpulse Dental TechnologyThe iLase™ is awesome. It features Biolase's unique ComfortPulse™ mode of operation. It allows me to deliver laser energy in very short pulses.

The result is reduced discomfort and a reduced need for anesthetic. It is extremely easy to use and helps create very esthetic crowns and veneers.

Digital X-Rays

The most exciting new development in the office lately has been the addition of digital x-rays. In June, 2007 my entire x-ray system was upgraded to the latest digital equipment and software. Each operatory has it's own computer and flat screen monitor.

Today, X-rays are no longer taken using large AC x-ray cones and film. Now I use low power, smaller DC units and digital x-ray sensors. There are many benefits, including dramatically lower radiation requirements, and large clear images that both the patient and I can look at.

The Rembrandt Saphire Light

This powerful ultra-violet light bonds small fillings in 3 seconds and large fillings in 5 seconds. This is especially handy when a patient requires multiple fillings as the time required to complete this procedure is short.
